Para ello, analiza tres movimientos sociales que resisten a proyectos de infraestructura hidroenergética en Chile (Koz Koz), Colombia (Asoquimbo) y Argentina (Mesa Provincial No a las Represas). ¿En qué medida estos movimientos sociales plantean prácticas energéticas alternativas que puedan sostener formas de desarrollo alternativas al modelo hegemónico y basadas en prácticas e instituciones de la ESS? La hipótesis propuesta es que estos movimientos aportan a la construcción de la ESS mediante la construcción, más o menos explícita, de un modelo energético popular , que apunta a una distribución justa de los costos y beneficios de los proyectos, a la construcción de una racionalidad reproductiva-ambiental que resignifica y desmercantiliza los territorios, y a la reivindicación del control popular sobre los recursos.
