En este panorama, algunos gobiernos locales generaron respuestas adaptativas al contexto en que se encuentran, llevando a cabo distintas políticas orientadas a accionar sobre los mercados en beneficio de los consumidores y productores locales. Se trata de políticas públicas orientadas al consumo, que buscan interferir en las cadenas de valor, mejorando las condiciones de acceso a los productos, así como también la producción de los mismos. El propósito de este trabajo es introducir una serie de discusiones y efectuar reflexiones en torno a las políticas públicas a nivel local centradas en el consumo, tomando un caso concreto de análisis, la “Feria Franca de Villa María”. Se propone poner en común una serie de ejes de debate en torno a las políticas de consumo, que a nuestro entender adquieren relevancia a la hora de gestionar dichas políticas.
