Al brindar transferencia metodológica a la ONG Proyecto Jujuy para la creación y gestión de bancos comunales, como parte de la implementación del programa de financiamiento y formación en microcrédito, fue emergiendo una situación problemática. Mediante las evaluaciones socioeconómicas y conversaciones informales, apareció una tensión entre las políticas nacionales, constituidas como recursos asistencialistas en la experiencia de vida de las mujeres, la fuerte influencia de los movimientos sociales en los procesos de implementación de tales políticas, los recursos y estrategias económicas alternativas que las mujeres creaban desde múltiples actividades productivas y reproductivas para satisfacer las necesidades de sus unidades domésticas familiares. Con el fin de rastrear cómo las mujeres microemprendedoras instituían la noción de trabajo, legitimada y validada en su reflexión y acción intersubjetiva, se seleccionó como estudio de caso a nueve mujeres considerando su permanencia durante mínimo ocho meses dentro del programa de microcrédito y dentro del rubro de su emprendimiento (servicios, producción y reventa) y su adherencia a los movimientos sociales de la zona.La indagación la realicé desde un posicionamiento ético como investigadora que pretende visibilizar grupos sociales excluidos, desnaturalizando e interpelando conceptos teóricos que niegan o no logran desentrañar la complejidad y densidad de realidades que se transforman incesantemente. Este posicionamiento se fundamentó, principalmente, en perspectivas del constructivismo y construccionismo social y en la teoría fundamentada, la cual invita a depurar los conceptos sustentándose en los datos más que en la teoría. Con base en el enfoque narrativo, las entrevistas realizadas a las mujeres seleccionadas desentrañaron el trabajo como práctica, saber, proceso, relación y actividad, desplegado y legitimado por las mujeres en calidad de agentes de la economía popular, en el juego de intercambios, simbólicos e instrumentales, de producción y consumo entre distintas unidades domésticas.
